If you’ve been yearning for a film more substantial than summer’s fun, forgettable box-office fare, then boy does Terrence Malick have the documentary for you. Voyage of Time: Life’s Journey is the culmination of over 30 years of planning, the Oscar-nominated filmmaker has said, and will investigate “the whole of time, from the birth of the universe to its final collapse.” The official synopsis adds that the ambitious film “hum[s] with the energy of nature itself, the film melds innovative special effects with awe-inspiring footage from around the globe, in search of what lasts, what endures, through time’s changing scenes.”

The film will be available in two different cuts—a Cate Blanchett–narrated, feature-length film, which is teased above, and will get a theatrical release. Brad Pitt also narrated an alternate, 40-minute version—Voyage of Time: The IMAX Experience—which will open on October 7. Enjoy! [Source]
