Cate Blanchett makes her way throuth Kingsford Smith International Airport after landing on an incoming flight on Thursday (November 15) in Sydney, Australia.

The 43-year-old actress was recently nominated for the London Evening Standard’s Natasha Richardson award, her first stage recognition in thirteen years, according to a British news source.

The nomination is for her work as Lotte in Botho Strauss’ play Big & Small.

Also nominated in the same category are Eileen Atkins for All That Fall, Laurie Metcalf for Long Day’s Journey Into Night, and Hattie Morahan for A Doll’s House.

Cate will find out if she wins the prize on November 25.

Daniel Craig and Cate Blanchett are set to star alongside George Clooney in the upcoming World War II drama The Monuments Men!

George wrote the film and is set to direct it as well. The Artist‘s Jean Dujardin and John Goodman, Bill Murray, and Downton Abbey‘s Hugh Bonneville will also star in the film, according to Deadline.

The flick is about a crew of art historians and museum curators who are in a race against time to recover renown works of art stolen by Nazis before Hitler destroys it.

Cate Blanchett takes one of five covers for Empire magazine‘s December 2012 issue, available on Empire U.S for the iPad, offering a first look at The Hobbit: An Expected Journey.

The 43-year-old actress is pictured as her character Galadriel while the other covers feature Ian McKellan as Gandalf, Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins, Richard Armitage as Thorin, and everyone’s favorite Gollum!

“I think it was just getting to spend some time in close proximity to Ian McKellen. I’m smitten… Maybe in some different universe we’re blissfully happy together,” Cate said of her favorite experience filming the flick.

“I have less baby fat and my face is slightly more angular. But once I’d put the wig, the feet and the clothing on again and took a photo of myself on my iPhone and looked at it, it blew my mind how much I still resembled Frodo,” Elijah Wood said of playing Frodo at 30.

Ryan Gosling crosses the street while filming scenes for his upcoming Untitled Terrence Malick Project on Saturday (October 20) in Austin, Tex.

The 31-year-old actor was joined on set by co-stars Cate Blanchett and Natalie Portman, who rocked some wet hair.
